1.3 Chat History (Optional)

Chat history is only saved when you are signed in. Conversations are stored locally in your browser (localStorage) under a key specific to your Google account ID. We do not upload or store your chat messages on our servers unless explicitly stated otherwise in a future update.

2. How We Use Your Information

To provide, maintain, and improve the Service
To authenticate you via Google Sign-In
To display your name and avatar in the interface
To save and restore your chat history (client-side only)
To communicate with you about the Service (rare)
To detect, prevent, or address technical issues or abuse

We do not sell your personal information. We may share data only in these limited cases:

With your explicit consent
To comply with a valid legal request (court order, subpoena, etc.)
To protect the rights, property, or safety of JackLinus AI, users, or the public
With service providers working on our behalf (analytics, hosting, etc.) under strict confidentiality

4. Third-Party Services

Google Identity Services — used for sign-in. Subject to Google Privacy Policy.
Hugging Face — inference is powered by models hosted on Hugging Face Spaces. Subject to Hugging Face Privacy Policy.

5. Data Storage & Security

Your chat history is stored only in your browser (localStorage) and never sent to our servers. We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect any data we do handle (logs, analytics metadata, etc.). However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

6. Your Rights & Choices

Access & Delete History — You can delete individual chats or clear all history directly from the History menu while signed in.
Sign Out — Ends your session; local history remains until manually cleared.
Browser Data Clearing — Clearing localStorage / cookies removes all saved chat history.

7. Children's Privacy

Our Service is not directed to individuals under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected such data, please contact us immediately.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Effective Date" above.

Important: During the current launch phase, chat history is stored exclusively client-side (in your browser). Future updates may introduce server-side storage or additional features — any such change will be clearly communicated and will require your consent where required by law.
